Binky Space

The backyard is our private BinkySpace. It offers plenty room for all kinds of bunny outdoor activities. We can exercise and do the binky dance all day long.
Our actual job out there is to act as guard bunnies and protect the humans's house while they are at work. Very exhausting sometimes, but we like it and always get treats for the hard work. During the night we stay in our rabbit apartment hutch, because mommy doesn’t want us to be outside when it’s dark. We don’t get why.

The BinkySpace is great, it is kind of like a self service food shop. Our absolute favorites are daddy’s coleus plants, he doesn't look very happy whenever we munch them (which of course doesn’t stop us). Then there are delicious rose bushes, pampas grass and all kinds of other foods. Usually the plants are nibbled off up to as high as we can reach.

Another thing we love to do is digging. It is so much fun. But whenever we dig a huge hole and are damn proud of it, the humans come along and close it back up. They need to show more appreciation for our talents.

We also own a complete set of garden furniture including an outdoor swing. We love to take a nap on the garden chairs, each bunny has its own favorite chair. Mommy thinks it looks funny when each of us is sitting on a different chair, she always says we are having a bun conference.

The bunnymous BinkySpace offers plenty opportunities to play tag. Of course the best thing is to play with the humans, because we are so much faster than they are. Unfortunately they are smarter and fool us all the time, not fair. But we try our best to give them a hard time.

We are happy bunnies having such a great place to be, we feel on top of the world!

Snow

We don’t often get a lot of snow here in sunny South Carolina, but  our BinkySpace was a Winter Wonderland for one day during the winter of 2009.

We had so much fun hopping around through the white flurries. Snow makes the perfect digging ground for bunnies, if it just would be a little warmer.

The only thing we did’t like about snow is the distinctive 'crunch' noise it makes whenever humans walk in the snow. We then get really nervous and scurry off in a second.

All in all we were pretty awesome in the snow, we consider to participate in the next Olympic winter games. We would be speed demons zooming around and doing great jumps because we'll hop so far.

Minirex Hutch

The outdoor hutch is our bunny apartment, where we (have to) stay during the night and whenever it is raining. The humans put lots of work into building the hutch for us, we really appreciate their efforts.

The hutch has two levels. The upper level is our dining and nap area, the lower level has two bunny toilets in the corner. Usually we kick stuff we don’t like down, so the room service only needs to clean the lower level. We help out where we can.

The doors will be opened at breakfast time in the morning, first thing we do is checking the BinkySpace for invaders, gotta always protect the land, then back to breakfast.

Before it gets dark in the evening, mommy brings us dinner. Usually we jump to the hutch in hurry, we’re in before mommy gets there, no patience when it comes to food. Then there are other times, where we absolutely don’t want to go into our hutch, this is when mommy has to chase us through the entire backyard. Preferably we do that whenever it is raining or freezing, exercise under extreme weather conditions never hurts.

Sometimes it happens that the humans don't close the hutch right and with a little effort we open the door and hop out. So funny every time they find out that we escaped. Nothing better than a nice play of tag in the dark.

In summer, when it is really hot, the humans put an umbrella next to the hutch. Very convenient, now a veggie umbrella drink and bunny life would be perfect.

Lionhead Cage

One day, mommy decided that our cage was too small and it was time for an extension. They’ve build this huge new cage with cubes and a wooden plate. It turned out to be an awesome place, because it gives us enough room to do binkies and play tag.

The best thing is our new playhouse. It has two levels and we love to jump up and down. Our favorite thing to do is napping on top. We can observe our kingdom and feel like we rule the world.

We also got a brandnew litter box with grid, so we can no longer make a mess with the contents. Don’t like that because that’s what makes a litter box fun. However we are perfectly litter-trained, well ok, Luna is, Leo is still learning. He leaves popsi just everywhere he goes. He needs to get that under control.

If you’d like to see us live, check out our Buncam. The humans put it right next to our cage, so we are under permanent observation. It is pretty exciting to be an online bun, but hey where did the bunny privacy go? It is just not fair that they can see everything we do. At least during the night, they can’t. This gives us enough time for our secret bunny activities. Just show that innocent bunny look in the morning.

Anipals

We love anipals and we even have visitors coming to our place from time to time.

In spring 2009 a little cute birdy decided to build a nest on our garden swing, right under the cushion. The humans were worried that we would mess up the nest, but we never touched it, just needed to check what’s going on occasionally. Not that we are nosy, but after all they are breeding in our place.

The birdy started laying eggs and came every day now to breed them. After a while the baby birdies hatched and the parent birdies brought lots of food. Wish we would get that kind of food and attention. Little baby birdies stayed in the nest for a while.

One day they decided to leave the nest and got fly lessons from mommy birdy. They jumped into our BinkySpace and tried to fly over the fence along with mommy birdie’s excited twitters. Babies needed a couple of attempts to get over the fence, but finally they all made it. Lucky birdies, we also would love check the other site of that fence. Guess we need to look for some fly training.
