Thendo wrote a review Jan Happy Island. The place is amazing, my family and i went on Christmas day, the kids and the elders loved it.
They all swam until the last minute before closing time. It did a little too crowded though but it was understandable considering that everyone wants to go out during the festive season.

Our facility is closed during the winter season and not open on Christmas day. It turns out that the old man, David Atkins, is an intelligent and caring man.
Overall, I thought this was a very good book. I would recommended this book to others because I like this type of genre. Therefore, I would suggest this book to other people who like survival and adventure stories and stories of nature.
However, some parts of the book I was not happy about because maybe it wasn't realistic. For example, when Andy was almost rescued by a helicopter, he did not beg to go home and instead stuck around with some biologists.
Although this may have seemed like a bad decision by Andy at the time, it turns out that by staying on the island, Andy got to know the old man better and gained a life-long friend.
Overall, this was a great book, well-written, but has a few points that were not realistic. However this does not ruin the book at all. Feb 26, Haley Kondo rated it liked it.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys action or mystery. This novel is filled with exciting tales of adventure and always kept me on the edge of my seat.
Even though the book was fiction, it was also filled was facts about the first Americans and stories of how people crossed the land bridge from Russia to Alaska.
It was fast-paced, and throughout reading the novel it never bored me. Overall I enjoyed this Novel and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I liked how the book told us where Andy got most of is information from on the land and the native animals. For example, Andy was debating on eating wild shellfish.
The reason he was debating eating shellfish was because he remembered that his tour guide Julia said that some of the shellfish are poisonous.
These added details made the book more believable. I would recommend this book for people who want a quick read and like survival books with a hint of mystery.
If this book was part of a series, I don't think I would read the next book because this book ended with a solid ending that answers all major questions, plus I'm not a huge fan of survival books.

Sep 19, Nick Jessop rated it it was ok. Andy is on a whale watching trip on his kayak when a storm hits and he is he gets stranded on an island with a wild man.
Andy is cold, hungry, tired and afraid of the wild man and he has to survive. I found out that Will Hobbs wrote this book because he likes adventures and nature so he wants to share how wild nature can be.
I connected with the book because I have been in big storms in small boats like Andy. I was reminded to take off your clothes if you are wet and cold so that you don't stay cold.
Andy did this in the book but he kept his underwear on. I don't recomend this book because it is hard to follow and poorly written. For example, it was hard to tell if Andy was rescued by a helicopter or not.
Say you've been stranded on an island off Alaska for a week with no food, fire, or shoes and finally you were rescued by a passing helicopter.
